The story

Hook in and hold on.

Blue Corner is the southwest corner of Nusa Lembongan's wall — an upwelling, current-swept site where cold water hits a reef edge and produces a vortex of schooling fish. Bigeye jack tornadoes, schooling barracuda, and patrolling whitetip and grey reef sharks are typical.

This is not a beginner site. Reef hook and AOWD-level skills required. We dive it only on days when current and surface conditions allow — and only on request. When it works, it's one of the top dives in Bali.

Downcurrents are real here — stay on the reef, follow your guide, ascend in the blue with SMB. Not for new AOWD divers.

Topography

How the dive unfolds.

A vertical wall ending at a corner that drops into deep blue. Strong current, big fish, reef hooks recommended.

Plan a typical 45–55 min advanced drift: negative entry on the wall, descend to 20 m, hook in at the corner and hold while the schools pass, ascend in the blue mid-water with SMB. NOT a relaxed dive.

Sightings are pure chance — current, season, time of day, and luck. Below is what divers spot at this site, but no operator can guarantee any specific encounter on any specific dive.

Certification

AOWD MANDATORY, plus 30+ logged dives and reef-hook experience. We turn divers away if conditions don't match skill level.

02 · Entry

Entry · Distance

Boat dive. 30–45 min by speedboat from Sanur or Padang Bai. Negative entry on current days.

03 · Flow

Currents

Strong, with potential for downcurrents. Reef hook required. We brief escape protocols pre-dive.

04 · When

Best time of day

Dive at slack-tide window only. Cancelled if surface swell exceeds 1.5 m.

05 · Gear

Gear

Reef hook (we provide), SMB with 4 m of line minimum, computer with depth alarm. 5 mm wetsuit Aug–Oct.
