The story

Padang Bai's quiet beach.

Bias Tugal is a small white-sand cove a 10-minute walk east of Padang Bai harbour — locals call it 'Secret Beach' though it's not really a secret anymore. The reef sits 30 metres offshore, sloping from 5 m to 20 m.

It's not a glamour dive. What you get is uncrowded conditions, gentle currents, and steady fish life — schooling fusiliers, parrotfish, the occasional turtle drifting through, scattered scorpionfish and nudibranchs. Use it as a quieter alternative to Blue Lagoon when the latter is crowded.

"The dive that gives you the bay mostly to yourself."

Open Water-friendly, easy beach entry/exit, ideal for relaxed photography and refresher dives.

Topography

How the dive unfolds.

The beach-entry site of Padang Bai. White-sand cove, short walk down from the parking, gentle reef sloping to 20 m. Healthy hard-coral garden, anemone city, schooling fusiliers. Backup site when the boats can't go out — almost always diveable.

Plan a 50-min easy dive: walk down to the beach, wade in, descend on the shallow coral, work the slope through the main garden, drop to the outer sand at 19 m, return. Open Water-friendly. Useful when wind/swell stops the boats from running.
